December 10th, Sunday at 5:30. West End Emergency Preparedness Meeting. Help organize our beautiful neighborhood for an emergency. Questions to ponder: What are our unique needs? What do we have to offer each other? How can I help? Potluck dinner- bring something to share (but don’t let that stop you if you can’t).  Location: Dr. Deb’s House 619 Polk Street

December 2nd, First Saturday Cleanup on Prince Memorial Greenway (ages 5 to adult) On the first Saturday of every month help take care of restored Santa Rosa Creek flowing through the heart of downtown. The Greenway provides a home for river otter, kingfishers, egrets, and steel head trout as well as parks, public art, and recreation along the six mile creek trail. Clean-up supplies provided. Location: Meet at Olive Park 10 a.m.

December 2nd, Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., December 3rd Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Santa Paws– The beloved yearly event at Western Farm Center. $20 (Benefits Canine Companions for Independence) Location: Western Farm Center 21 W. 7th Street


December 5th, Tuesday 5 to 9 p.m.- 5th Annual Krampus Group Art Show.  It’s the 5th Annual Krampus Group Art Show in the West End Neighborhood. Find it at tucked away in one of Santa Rosa’s underground art communities. It’s easy to spot at night thanks to Patrick Amiot’s newest sculpture lighting up the corner of Cleveland and 10th. Location: Beluga and Bee 24 10th Street

December 2nd, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday- Historic Railroad Square Holiday Merchant Open House.  Enjoy carolers, a photo booth, and activities for kids and tours of the Hotel La Rose lobby’s magical tree, plus treats at the California Welcome Center.  Step back in time in Historic Railroad Square and enjoy a wonderful holiday tradition in Santa Rosa’s most charming historic shopping and dining district. Location: Historic Railroad Square

Starting November 24th Friday- 30th Annual Railroad Square Holiday Horse & Carriage Rides A gift to the community from the Railroad Square Association, generous donors and Major Sponsors Rabobank and Teevax Home Appliance.   The complimentary rides leave from the Depot starting on Friday, Nov.  24th and then every weekend starting Nov 25 through Saturday Dec 23rd. Special Christmas Eve hours are 11-3PM. (weather permitting) Location: Historic Railroad Square


Dec 9 at 2:00 p.m. – 10th at 6:00 p.m. , Saturday & Sunday- A Vocal Conspiracy Holiday Directed by Bill Trzeciak A two-act spoken word performance of both classic and recent, funny and poignant holiday stories and poems by a vocal choir of readers. Location: 6th Street Playhouse, Studio Theatre

December 1st  to 23rd Irving Berlin’s White Christmas Based on the beloved film, this heartwarming musical tells the story of two song and dance men who follow a sister act to Vermont only to discover that the nearly bankrupt lodge they will perform at is owned by their former Commanding General. Location: 6th Street Playhouse  

December 8th-23rd   Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge. A zany, naughty take on the holiday classic. In this new version of A Christmas Carol, Scrooge’s tale of redemption and transformation is turned completely on its head. Mrs. Bob Cratchit, a previously minor character in the famous Dickens tale, takes center stage this year! No longer loving and long suffering, Mrs. Bob is in a rage: She’s sick of the goody-goody crippled Tiny Tim, she hates her twenty other children, and she wants to get drunk and jump off London Bridge! Location: 6th St. Playhouse
