Believe it or not… Holiday Season is Upon us! Here’s an offering of local events:

Starting November 24th Friday- 30th Annual Railroad Square Holiday Horse & Carriage Rides A gift to the community from the Railroad Square Association, generous donors and Major Sponsors Rabobank and Teevax Home Appliance.   The complimentary rides leave from the Depot starting on Friday, Nov.  24th and then every weekend starting Nov 25 through Saturday Dec 23rd. Special Christmas Eve hours are 11-3PM. (weather permitting) Location: Historic Railroad Square

December 2nd, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday- Historic Railroad Square Holiday Merchant Open House.  Enjoy carolers, a photo booth, and activities for kids and tours of the Hotel La Rose lobby’s magical tree, plus treats at the California Welcome Center.  Step back in time in Historic Railroad Square and enjoy a wonderful holiday tradition in Santa Rosa’s most charming historic shopping and dining district. Location: Historic Railroad Square

December 2nd, Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., December 3rd Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Santa Paws- The beloved yearly event at Western Farm Center. $20 (Benefits Canine Companions for Independence) Location: Western Farm Center 21 W. 7th Street

December 1st  to 23rd Irving Berlin’s White Christmas Based on the beloved film, this heartwarming musical tells the story of two song and dance men who follow a sister act to Vermont only to discover that the nearly bankrupt lodge they will perform at is owned by their former Commanding General. Location: 6th Street Playhouse  

December 8th-23rd   Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge. A zany, naughty take on the holiday classic. In this new version of A Christmas Carol, Scrooge’s tale of redemption and transformation is turned completely on its head. Mrs. Bob Cratchit, a previously minor character in the famous Dickens tale, takes center stage this year! No longer loving and long suffering, Mrs. Bob is in a rage: She’s sick of the goody-goody crippled Tiny Tim, she hates her twenty other children, and she wants to get drunk and jump off London Bridge! Location: 6th St. Playhouse

On the OTHER side of Downtown:

November 24th, Friday 4 to 8 p.m.-  Winter Lights in Courthouse Square Santa Rosa’s annual tree lighting event, community event for all ages. Food and beverages, free hot chocolate and cookies for the kiddos. Location: Courthouse Square

December 2nd & 3rdLuther Burbank Home & Gardens Holiday Open House Visit the historic home and gardens of Luther Burbank on 12/2 & 12/3 during the annual Holiday Open House. Tour the home decked out with old-fashioned holiday finery, see the latest exhibit in the Carriage House Museum and shop for unique Burbank-related items in the gift shop. Entry is $3 for ages 12 and over.  Location: Luther Burbank Home & Gardens 204 SR Ave
