The Egrets on 9th St.- Writer: Carol Ciavonne recently published “The Birds: An Assemblage of Egrets” in the online literary magazine, Entropy. Carol Ciavonne’s essays and reviews have appeared in Poetry Flash, Xantippe, and Pleiades. Poems have appeared in Denver Quarterly, Boston Review, Colorado Review, New American Writing and How2, among other journals. Her collection of poetry, Azimuth (2014) is available from Jaded Ibis Press. A selection from the poems in Birdhouse Dialogues (LaFi Publishers 2013) with artist Susana Amundaraín, has been performed by The Imaginists theater group in Northern California.

“Glean & Grow”- Artist Brian Howlett’s work is on display at City Hall from June 23rd- August 13th. An Artist’s Reception will be held on July 31st at 5-7 p.m.

July 10th -August 15th- “Twelfth Night” at Shakespeare in the Cannery. We look forward to seeing you in our open-air outdoor venue in Santa Rosa’s historic Railroad Square for the 2015 season of Shakespeare in the Cannery! Twelfth Night opens July 10th and continues each weekend through August 15th. Veteran actor and West Ender, Alan Kaplan joins the cast as Olivia’s pompous attendant, Malvolio. Showtime is at 7:00pm and patrons are invited to bring a picnic dinner before the show to enjoy while watching the sunset over the stage. Tickets

July 30th, Thursday 5 to 7 p.m.- Chop’s Teen Club’s 7th Annual Art Gala This juried Art Gala features teen art created during the Side by Side Artist Series. Local artists, including West Enders Klaus Rappensperger and Bob Ankers, work with students to create amazing art. Enjoy appetizers prepared and served by Chop’s Teen Catering Crew and enjoy music performed by Chop’s Teen Jam Band. Location: Chop’s Teen Club 509 Adams St.
