Every Friday at 6 p.m.- West End Summer Bocce ends Sept. 26th. Relax on Friday nights with friends and neighbors at DeMeo Park. Bring a dish to share or something to throw on the grill. We talk, eat, play a little bocce and then talk and eat some more! Good times. Family friendly. Well behaved dogs are welcomed. No glass at park please. Location: DeMeo Park 610 Polk St.

September 13th 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.- DeMeo Park Clean Up– The West End Neighborhood joins forces with the Park A Month Volunteer program. Hand tools will be provided on-site by City of SR staff, but you are also welcome to bring your own tools. Don’t forget a hat/sunscreen, gloves and water. Location: DeMeo Park 610 Polk St.

September 20th, Saturday 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.- 2nd Annual Lincoln St. Block Party There will be a festive community gathering with music, outdoor entertainment, BBQs and food on Lincoln Street. The street will be closed off that day and there will be lots of room to mingle, listen to music (5 to 7 bands) and there will even be jump house for the kids. Creek Week September 20th-29th  Creek Week is a week-long celebration of our local creeks. It’s a week of fun and adventure, clean ups & educational activities for everyone at your local creeks and nature areas.  Children should be accompanied by an adult for all events. Family Fun Day- September 27th 10:00 AM-2:00PM is a day with free family-friendly adventures such as Turtle Talk & the Downtown Underground tour. Learn about how to protect our creek water, how to care for feral cats and what to do with injured wildlife and more. In The Ziegfeld Follies, in Hollywood films and on the radio, Fanny Brice was one of the most celebrated entertainers of her time. This show is her story. The West End’s own Laura McGinnis is featured in the role, “Emma”. Location: 6th St. Playhouse, G.K. Hardt Theatre

 

September 12th – 28th The Glass Menagerie In director Craig A. Miller’s newly envisioned version of the Tennessee Williams classic, Tom Wingfield is a homeless man living under a fire escape in 1960s St. Louis. Haunted by his past, the audience experiences the hallucination-like memories of his sister and mother unfold before their eyes. The question arises: what is truth, and what has become a fabrication of memory played over and over in Tom’s troubled mind? Location: 6th Street Playhouse Studio Theatre
