 July 18th to August 23rd– Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m.  Shakespeare in the Cannery The six-week engagement of the enduring classic Romeo and Juliet offers the people of Sonoma County, and beyond, the chance to wine and dine under the summer night sky while enjoying an inventive take on Shakespeare. The site of the former California Packing Company’s Plant No. 5 in Santa Rosa’s Railroad Square will be transformed into an outdoor theater, complete with solar-powered stage lighting and an innovative set.The cast features local, professional actors and musicians. West Ender Alan Kaplan will be Friar Laurence TICKETS General Admission $25, $5 discount if you ride bike to event. July 18th – July 27th– Hamlet’s Orphans Local playwright Dezi Gallegos and eighteen extraordinarily talented kids aged 9-14 began created this original play. description: 11 year-old James Curtis is the brother of a girl who cannot feel empathy; she can watch or create the suffering of others, and remain unperturbed. Hamlet’s Orphans explores the human desires to fix the ones we love, to know right from wrong, to be both innocent and worldly, and to connect with other people. It is performed by the same children who helped write the piece. $25- $10. Location: 6th St. Playhouse, Studio Theatre

Summer and Youth Teen Productions at 6th St. Playhouse:  For the past few weeks, So. Co. youth and teens have been hard at work rehearsing for the School of Drama’s productions of Grease and Thoroughly Modern Millie. Both shows run on the G.K Hardt main stage with the original sets from the adult productions.
