West End residents are very fortunate to have S.R.’s historic business district nearby where we enjoy shopping, entertainment and dining. It seems like our own personal downtown… but we’re willing to share, right?
Last Day Saloon Building (120 5th Street) may soon be the new home of the Monsoon Restaurant and Bar. An application for a major landmark alteration permit has been filed with the City of S. R. The Cultural Heritage Board will conduct a public hearing on May 7th, Wednesday at or after 2:30 p.m. in Conference Room 7, City Hall, 100 Santa Rosa Ave. The public may give input at that time or submit written comments prior to the public hearing. May 1st, Thursday, 5- 7 p.m.- The Faces of a Century. Pop Up Gallery Opening reception. 100 faces of the Century representing S. R. citizens age 1 to 100. After opening reception, gallery will be open daily to the public- inquire at front desk. Location: Historic Hotel La Rose.
June 3rd, Tuesday 5:30- 7 p.m.- Rabobank relocation reception. Welcome Rabobank to Railroad Square. Ribbon-cutting at 6 p.m. Appetizers and beverages provided. Location: 201 3rd St.
Spring Cleaning– on April 23rd Railroad Square merchants, property owners and the Redwood Gospel Mission joined forces to spruce up our favorite historic shopping & dining district. All the flower barrels were tended to & the sidewalks and store fronts spruced up. Depot Park got special attention too… Charlie Brown and Snoopy even got a bath!
