Railroad Square Happenings

Feb 17, 2014 in Development & projects, Events

Did you know that the Railroad Square Association has been restoring, preserving and promoting the Historic Railroad Square District for almost 40 years? In 1975, Monty Montague of Teevax brought together property owners such as the Welfare League and Whistlestop Antiques, merchants and other businesses to fight blight and improve the business climate in Railroad Square. According to Gaye LeBaron, Nan Taylor (Don’s mom) may have started the renaissance in Railroad Square by buying a seedy little store and turning into the hugely popular Omelette Express. (Thanks to Dee Richardson for this great Railroad Square history.)

The West End is very fortunate to have this charming, historic shopping district filled with a variety of wonderful restaurants, shops & coffee houses steps just steps from our homes.
