
Harvest Celebration this weekend at the W. E. Farmers Market. Halloween is around the corner.
Sundays- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.- The West End Farmers Market. This week the WEFM celebrates the Harvest Season. Music by Doug Blumer and the Bohemian Highway & T Luke and the Tight Suits. There are special activities for dogs and dog lovers- 11 a.m.-1 p.m.- Meet Shirley Zindler author of “The Secret Life of Dog Catchers”. 10:30- 1 p.m. Harvest Dog Portrait Booth ($10 all proceeds benefit the “Love me, Fix me” program) and each dog gets a special treat courtesy of Western Farm Center. October 25th– November 10th– One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. The story of a charming rogue contrives to serve a short sentence in an airy mental institution rather than in prison. This, he learns, was a mistake as soon as he clashes with Nurse Ratched, a formidable opponent to his notions of nonconformity in her structured an controlling psych war and the famous show down between nurse and patient is one of the riveting evenings of theatre. October 31st, Thursday- West End Kid’s Halloween Parade 5:30 p.m.- Time to show off your costumes! We will gather at Boyce and Coulter at 5:30. Thriller Dance at 6 p.m. followed by the parade.
November 2nd, Saturday 5 to 9 p.m.- 4-a-Child Masquerade Ball. Enjoy an evening in the DeTurk Round Barn – hors d’ oeurvres, dancing and wine. Black tie optional, masks required. This fundraiser benefits the California Parenting Institute. Tickets are $75 per person. West End Neighborhood residents get a $10 off admission.
