Time for our annual Spring Meeting at Historic DeTurk Round Barn. We have lots to talk about and it’s always nice to see neighbors after a quiet winter. Hope to see you there!

March 21st, Thursday at 7 p.m.- The West End Neighborhood Association Spring Meeting Location: DeTurk Round Barn 819 Donahue St. Updates: Chop’s Teen Center, BoDean Asphalt, West End Farmer’s Market and much more. We also have musical guests Vinyl Revival (with the West End’s own Laura McGinnis) – they sing 4 and 5 part harmony.

See you Thursday Night at the meeting!

The West End Neighborhood Association Newsletter is out- Hopefully by now, you have received your own copy. Many have asked, “Why don’t you just email the newsletters out?” There are a few answers: The newsletter is a way to build community and by a neighbor going out to other neighbors homes to hand out the newsletter- people get to know each other and realize that there are other neighbors who care about the place where we live. The other answer is that not every neighbor uses or is interested in using a computer- by eliminating the printed newsletter we would not be able to reach every neighbor. Maybe we would save a tree… but we would lose neighbors… and that’s not a good thing.

The West End Newsletter is in the news! Yes, the decision by the West End End Neighborhood Association to bypass “free” printing offered to neighborhood groups and pay for our own newsletter’s printing ourselves was noted in the Press Democrat. If you want to know why that decision was made… you can always read the West End Neighborhood News March 2013!
