DeTurk Round Barn Dog Park Warning: Our dog park was designed with grapes growing on the fence. Lovely? Yes! BUT grapes can be toxic to dogs so be very aware if your dog happens to find grapes delicious. August 11th, Saturday- Read to a Summer Dog. Put a kid, a dog and a book together in the library and watch wonderful things happen. Other times available at other branches Location: So. Co. Library– Central Branch 211 E. Street Time: 11 a.m – 12 p.m.

August 12th, West End Small Dog Hour– A slower, downsized environment for the smaller dog to play. A great time for small dogs to meet with other small dogs to romp without concern. The West End Small Dog Hour is held the second Sunday of every month right before the W. E. Poodle Party. Rain will cancel the event. August 12th, West End Poodle Party. Calling all social Poodles!… it’s time to party. The West End Poodle Party is held the second Sunday of every month. August 1st–31stSummer Celebration!  $25 Cat and Dog Adoptions. All dogs and cats have been temperament tested. Professional staff will be available to assist you in choosing the perfect dog or cat for your family. ADOPTIONS INCLUDE: vet exam, spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, worming, flea treatment, leukemia and/or feline immunodeficiency virus testing (cats), collar, leash (dogs), microchip, carry box (cats). Location: Sonoma County Animal Shelter 1247 Century Ct. Time:Tuesday – Saturday 12:00 noon – 5:30 p.m.

SPAY PAL- $30 CAT Spay and Neuter Surgeries Offered by appointment. The Sonoma Humane Society offers “Spay Pal”, a low cost cat spay/neuter Cat Spay/Neuter program for Sonoma County Residents held on Tuesdays and Fridays. August 26th, Sunday- Eco-Tour Dog Hike with Jeff Kunde & Riley the Dog A scenic hiking tour of the 1,850 acre estate conducted by Jeff Kunde. You will be rewarded with sights of bountiful wildlife, panoramic views of the breathtaking scenery of the Sonoma Valley and learn of Kunde Estate’s sustainable winegrowing practices as they craft their ultra-premium estate bottled wines. This is a moderately strenuous hike lasting approximately 4 hours and concludes with a wine tasting and a Wine Country Lunch. Water bar and treats for the dogs. Price: $50 per person (portion of the fee donated to Canine Companions and So. Co. Humane Society.)
