The last West End Summer Movie night at De Turk Round Barn is THIS Friday night. Thanks to Paul and Veronica for providing this great event to our neighborhood!

Two more weeks to enjoy bocce on Friday night. Roll up your sleeves and help beautify the dull and drab 9th Street under crossing. There will be two painting days- first one is this Sunday at 10 a.m.

September 8th, Thursday- “The Way Things Go” First in the Great Communities movie series at the Share Exchange focusing on urban sustainability and happiness. On the 8th, West Ender Russ Scarola will host evening that features a few inspiring short films followed by a group pow wow to figure out what fun and fantastic recycled materials we can use for an upcoming art installation in Santa Rosa. This is Russ’s SSU grad project! Movies and discussion every Thursday. Later sessions will explore specific communities around the world.$5 General Admission, $3 Share Ex. Members. September 9th, Friday- Spirited Away. West End Summer Movie- LAST ONE! Watch movies under the stars. Movie schedule posted on DeTurk Park Bulletin Board (by dog park) Bring a blanket, warm clothes and friends. Free Popcorn. Location: DeTurk Round Barn Park 819 Donahue Street Time: Movies start at dark- 8:30 to 9 p.m. As soon as it is dark enough to project. If it rains, the event is canceled. Questions? September 10th, Saturday- Roots Americana Folk Music – food, beer, vendors, two stages of music, and an area for folks to bring instruments and jam. This weekend music by Arann Harris and the Farm Band, The Dirt Floor Band, Mr. December and more. Location: Santa Rosa’s Courthouse Square! Time: 4-7pm.

September 11th, Sunday- West End Poodle Party. A Sunday social for Poodles- they can bring their owners too! West End Poodle Party is held every second Sunday at 11 a.m. at DeTurk Round Barn Dog Park. Poodles, Doodles, Poodle fusions and any Poodle friendly dog invited. September 11th, Sunday- 9th Street Mural Community Painting Day Help us paint! The St. Rose and West End neighborhoods have joined forces to create a mural for the 9th Street under crossing. The goal is to create an attractive, comfortable, graffiti-free experience for the pedestrian, bike rider, driver or neighbor who may travel through this under crossing. The design, by Mario Uribe, is also easy to maintain by neighborhood volunteers. Help us paint! Bring your own paint roller or we’ll have one for you. Snacks and beverages provided.
