January 7th, Friday- Street Sweepers. We have had several reports about streets being missed or just not being cleaned very well. We have discussed the issue with North Bay Corporation ( provides street sweeper service for the City of Santa Rosa). They will be paying special attention to this area. If you find that your street was missed ( or wasn’t swept very well) contact Arturo Morales at 236-0887. Please take note! Street sweeper is supposed to sweep the curb of debris such as leaves, dirt and trash but cannot remove huge piles of leaves that are swept from driveways, yards and sidewalks.  Use your yard waste bins for large amounts of leaves.

Crime Alerts: Neighborhood Watch is the most effective and least expensive tool for ensuring the safe environment that we all want for our families. This is homeowner’s insurance that works!

Yard vandalized: On December 30th, Thursday evening someone tore up a significant amount of landscaping ( including 2 lavender plants) on the side of of a neighbor’s house (side faces Coulter St. ). They uprooted several plants then tossed them across the yard. They were clearly uprooted, so it did not look like an animal could have done it. Have any other neighbors experienced similar vandalism?

Watch your porches: Reports of a man trespassing on front porches and taking property. Middle aged male on girl’s bike with a gray rainproof hoodie.

Kid Street Charter School targeted: We have had our vans broken into, gas tanks stolen, several batteries taken and our tags on our license plates taken regardless of how we slice them etc. We now keep the vans at staff homes. Just an FYI around 8th & Davis.  Linda Conklin, Executive Director and Principal. (Editor’s note: By the way, Kid Street has a wish list for Classroom and Art Supplies. Check out their website for more info Kid Street Learning Center & Charter School.)
