The King Ridge GranFondo is the big event this weekend, but not everybody likes the same things so here’s a few West End/Railroad Square events.

October 8th, Friday  Gran La Fonda- Hand-built Bike Show. An outdoor bike event in Historic Railroad Square on the evening before the GranFondo. Meet the builders and check out the bike they will riding the next day.  Beer & Food available. Time: 5 p.m. Location: Corner of 5th & Davis  Click Here!

October 9th, Saturday. Medicine Making Workshop. Join Rachel & Carissa for an afternoon of herbal lore and medicine making. $30-$40 sliding scale. Please RSVP to bikemama@sonic.net Time: 3-5 p.m.  Location: 310 Boyce Street

Feeling like a little Italian? The 20th Annual Festa Italiana is this Sunday, October 10th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  at the Veterans Memorial Hall. Many Italians called the West End home (At that time called the West Side). This event benefits the Cultural endeavors of the North Bay Italian Cultural Foundation. Many of the Foundation’s members were related to the West End in one way or another. $5 advance, $8 at the door. For info: (707) 591-9696

Tina the chihuahua

Tina is still missing! Tina is a tan and white chihuahua. She was wearing a pink collar and got out the door when it was left open for a brief moment as recycling was taken out. Owners are devastated and are offering a reward her safe return home. Please help! Kameron 707/799-9279
