Yes, it has come at last. Our final evening of West End Summer Bocce & our last Movie Night at DeMeo Park. A moment of silence… and then remember to put it on your calendar and be there!
September 17th, Friday- West End Summer Bocce The LAST ONE!!! Our tradition is to take a group photo under the tree. We will take the photo around 6:40– before it’s too dark. So be on time and dress to impress. In addition to our standard group shot, we will attempt to get a “kids only” group photo. Bring food to share. Bocce is an all age, dog friendly event. To keep the event enjoyable and comfortable for all- please remember to observe Park rules: No glass, dogs on leashes. The West End Neighborhood Association has procured a Special Alcohol Permit and Lavatory for West End Summer Bocce. Wear layers for chilly nights. West End Bocce is also on facebook . Location: DeMeo Park Time: 6 p.m.
After Bocce
September 17th, Friday- West End Movie Night at DeMeo Park. Last movie night of the year! Join your neighbors this Friday night at 8:15 pm (when it’s dark enough) to watch the movie Princess and the Frog in DeMeo Park. (Movie details here and parental advisory here ) Bring a blanket & such to sit on and keep warm with. We will return to having free popcorn to share this time. (Thanks Paul and Veronica for this wonderful event!)
More Bocce details: We will bring all the “lost & found” items to bocce for one last time. There will be tickets available for purchase to Earle Fest (Saturday, Sept. 25th $20 advance purchase) . It will be a great outdoor concert. A West End Neighbor works at the Earle Baum Center and one of the bands, St. Peterbilt, features one of our favorite West End musicians, Justin Barr.
Happy Birthday to Shirley! She celebrated her special day in fine style at DeMeo Park with her family and friends and neighbors. (Even the SRPD came by to check on Shirley.)
Mural Meeting recap– The community meeting for the Mural for the 9th Street Under crossing was very well attended! Thanks to everyone who participated and gave their input. It’s a better project because you took the time to care. We have a growing list of volunteer painters. We will keep you updated as this project goes through the approval process.
Neighborhood Watch Suggestion– “You might let people know about 2 ways of notifying easily! 1. speed dial SR police as your 1 #. Not 911, that # is Vallejo CHP dispatch 2. program the police # in your phone under…acop. It is the first # on your list. 3. program your emergency persons contact# under ICE= in case of emergency”. Missy
