West End Summer Bocce Season- every Friday night 6 p.m. at DeMeo Park. Meet your friends and neighbors for food, frolic and flaming hot bocce.  Bring food and drink to share. All age and dog friendly event. Dress in layers for chilly evenings. Remember park rules: No glass and dogs on leash.

May 20th, Thursday at 7 p.m.  Surf movie night with a twist- music after the movie from the West End’s very own “Deluxe Buckets“. Kelly Cowan will be hosting the movie as always and then strapping it on (his bass) to entertain us with some music…..promises to be a fun night. Deluxe Buckets are the latest enjoyable quartet about town! Such style & verve has finally arrived! Kelly “KC” Cowan, Dan “Detroit” Murphy, “Sexy” Dan Krause, Cliff “eekins” Hill. Don’t let Tax Day get you down. There’s lots of fun things to attend- Music, Earth Day, Pugs and West End talent - You choose!

Can you sing? April 15th, Thursday- Audition to sing the National Anthem at the AMGEN Tour of California! Wine Country Radio is holding auditions for their annual Anthem Contest, 6-8 p.m. at the Russian River Brewing Company. Come prepared to belt out the National Anthem on stage and have your performance video taped. The top 5 performers will have their videos posted on Wine Country Radio websites for radio listeners to vote on their favorite, who will ultimately sing the anthem at the AMGEN Tour of California celebration in Santa Rosa on May 17th! There’s always something fun to do when you live in the West End. This Week:

Friday, October 9th, 8 p.m.- Movie Night at DeTurk Round Barn.  Join your neighbors this Friday night just after dark at ** 8:00 ** pm to watch a movie outside, projected against the DeTurk Roundbarn. Bring a blanket & such to sit on (and to wrap yourself in as it gets cooler).** Also bring a cup or small bowl to get some free popcorn ** We’ll be watching Drumline this week. Sunday, October 11th at 3 p.m.- West End Alley Cat Race at Toad in the Hole Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages, the 2nd annual alley cat race and food drive is finally here! Come out and support the Redwood Empire Food Bank as a participant in the race, with donations of food, or by bidding on the bicycles that will be auctioned off. Saturday, October 31st 5 to 9 p.m. Chop’s Halloween Carnival at W. 6th and Adams Street. An evening of safe and ghoulish fun!
