If you want to give input to SMART about their rail car’s amenities- attend the Wednesday night meeting. No need to travel far for holiday events… just walk out your front door.

December 9, Wednesday 7 p.m. at CHOPS, 509 Adams Street -SMART Vehicle Workshop. December 12, Saturday at 6 p.m.- Memorial Hospice Tree lighting ceremony in Depot Park , Railroad Square. Music, sing-alongs, candlelight, and remembrances — a celebration of life. An inspirational event for the Santa Rosa community that takes place in Historic Railroad Square.

December Holiday Show (Time varies for more info- Click here!) at 6th Street Playhouse, 52 W. 6th Street.  “Ham for the Holidays” Set on Christmas Eve in 1939, a group of actors who work at a small radio station await the arrival of Orson Welles. Hilarity ensues through a long, blizzardy night toward Christmas morning in this new family-friendly seasonal treat sprinkled with holiday music from the era.

December Global Lens Series (Times vary for more info- Click here!) North Bay Film and Art Collective, 99 6th Street.  Immerse yourself in an international way- some dates include food, live entertainment and themed presentations. Make a date to see a film- the series ends December 20th.

On Sunday September 27th, throngs of folks attended the 2nd Annual Dr. Erasmus P. Kitty’s Great West End & Railroad Square Regatta. The temperatures blazed over 100 degrees, but it didn’t put a damper on the festivities. It was a wondrous medley of hand car racing, costumes, music, food , Victorian sideshows and curiosities.

The Regatta weekend kicked off this evening with the CHOPS Teen Club Regatta Gala. The CHOPS art car was unveiled and will compete this Sunday at the Regatta. The Hubbub Club played as Gala attendees enjoyed selected works from the CHOPS summer artist series. See Photos from Gala- Press here.

When only one player is left, we will gather to eat and celebrate the victor (and make everyone who didn’t get to play really, really jealous). When BANDITS has run it’s course, Tyson “Dinner Bell” Ducker will serve up a couple more to complete the game with a square meal! Tyson is the Chef at Fisher Vineyards, a world traveler, has proof his baby’s been to Africa, and is a resident of the West End Neighborhood in Santa Rosa, CA.

Our Neighbor Andrew has spearheaded a NEW West End Sunday Tradition.

Sunday “Brocce Ball” 2nd Sundays of Each Month Starting tomorrow.

Playing bocce after church on Sundays is a time-honored tradition in Bella Italia. In fact, brunch and bocce (a.k.a. “Brocce”) is so popular even the Pope gets in on the action.
Join your neighbors in celebrating the sun, fun food, and bocce ball.Every second Sunday of July, Aug. & Sept. – 11 am – 2 pm (Mark your calendars: July 12, Aug. 9, and Sept. 13)

Last Saturday’s Bocce clean up was a huge success. Several hardworking neighbors spread wood chips and fresh bocce mix to make DeMeo Park ready for this year’s season. Bocce mix and lavatory has been donated by the West End Neighborhood Association. Your dues at work!
