All right! The rain has stopped so let’s get out and enjoy. Two events are “Rain Checks” this Friday and there’s lots of other great things to do.

Rain Checks:

June 10th, Friday -Toy Story 3″ -West End Summer Movie Nights. Bring a blanket, warm clothes and friends. Free Popcorn. Location: DeTurk Round Barn Park 819 Donahue Street Time: Movies start at dark- 8:30 to 9 p.m. As soon as it is dark enough to project.  If it rains, the event is canceled. Questions? June 10th, Friday -The June 3rd Summer Nights | Railroad Square has been rescheduled for June 10th. A Summer Street Party featuring wine tasting, live music, outdoor dining, crafters and art. The event is free, with wine tasting available for $20.  Location: Historic Railroad Square- 4th Street from Wilson to Davis Street. Time: 6- 9 p.m. For more info: http://snrrs.com

June 9th, Thursday- KRSH Backyard Concert featuring Steve Lucky & the Rhumba Bums (Jump blues, swing, jazz, and rare gems inspired by the 1930′s, 40′s and 50′s) with Miss Kitty and the Big Dogs (West End’s Tim Sarter on bass) . Low lawn chairs only, please. No coolers, no dogs. Location: Kids welcome! Station House  3565 Standish Ave. off Todd Road exit on 101 in Santa Rosa Time: The Backyard opens at 5:30. Music at 6.

Every Friday night- West End Summer Bocce at DeMeo Park at 6:30 p.m. Gossip, grub and game! Bring a dish to share.  The West End Neighborhood Association has procured a use permit that allows us to to drink a little wine (in the true Italian style) while we play bocce. The permit is only for Friday Night Bocce and folks participating in the event. This is a family and dog friendly event. No glass in the park as per park rules. Location: DeMeo Park  Time: 6:30 p.m.

June 10th- 12th- Harmony Festival. Maxfield Arts and the Fun Bike Unicorn Club (FBUC) present an exciting new attraction for Harmony Festival 2011 titled The Steampunk Garage, including Santa Rosa-based builders also known as Whiskeydrunk Cycles, Todd Barricklow, Krank-Boom-Clank and The Feed Barn, all of whom are intimately entwined with the North Bay’s popular annual Hand-car Regatta. June 11th- Peggy Sue’s Cruise- Parade of Cars. Santa Rosa will rumble with excitement. A delight for car enthusiasts – the cruise features American made models dating from the early 1900′s to 1976. The 9th annual Peggy Sue’s Cruise is a 3 day event- music, car show, chili cook-off, poker run and more . Location: Cruise on 4th, 5th, Brookwood, Ross, and B streets. June 11th, Saturday 3rd annual Knit in Public Day. Yes… that’s Knit in Public right in front of Cast Away Yarn Shop. They will have a shade tent & cozy seating, and snacks and water for knitters! June 16th Wednesday 5 to 8 p.m. Santa Rosa Downtown Market. Rosie Tour features CHOP’s Teen Club. Tours leave t 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., from the corner of E and 3rd Streets, by the downtown library and Farmers Market. Tours are approximately 45 minutes. June 19, Saturday 11am-3pm  Knit in Public Day:
The public is invited to bring their yarn project to this simple knit/crochet event in the park to work on individual or group projects. The idea is to discover and/or create community through knitting in public. Participants should bring their own blanket or chair and snacks. Cast Away yarn shop will provide knitting and crochet supplies and lessons to anyone who does not already know how to knit or crochet. Takes place at Depot Park in Railroad Square. Don’t forget-  Rent- at 6th Street Playhouse  - an American musical that tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York’s Lower East Side. This Saturday, June 12th 6- 9 p.m. Peggy Sue’s All American Cruise The “Parade of Cars” / “Cruise” will take place downtown Santa Rosa. The Parade will run from ‘B’ Street down 4th Street to Hope St and returning back down to ‘B’ Street by the way of 5th Street.
