Lunatics, Buckets and Dogs- Good times

If you want to get a little crazy, this is a good week to do it. Lots of opportunities to see local West End performing artists- and the biggest event actually requires a straight jacket (or perhaps a bathrobe and medication).

July 27th, Tuesday night. Toad in the Hole’s 3 year anniversary Party. The Deluxe Buckets will bust out some good ol’fashioned swampabilly- zombitandem-tacotruckin-goodtime tunes.  Plus, the troublemakers will be haulin’ out the big contraptions for the summer fun of it and because the Toad has always been ready with beer and support for The Builders. July 28th, Wednesday night, 7 p.m.  Miss Kitty and the Big Dogs – Miss Kit Von Kat and her Big Dogs will show you a swinging good time. Location: Cafe Azul at 7 p.m. Miss Kitty and the Big dogs video

July 31st, Saturday, 9 p.m.  Feeling demented? Perfect! Lunatic Binge will encourage  you right off the deep end.  A benefit fundraiser for Baby Seal Club’s upcoming CD- but you actually benefit because you get to see the 3 local bands including West End Favorites- Baby Seal Club and the Deluxe Buckets! $10 in costume ( $15 without). August 1, Sunday 5- 7 p.m. Baby Seal Club at Live at Julliard Park – 17th Annual 2010 Summer Concert Series . Extend the weekend, come and enjoy a picnic dinner on a summer Sunday evening filled with music, fun and food. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and sit back and enjoy the entertainment. Bring your picnic dinner or purchase it from Worth Our Weight Culinary program or purchase a delicious coffee drink from The Coffee Girls. All performances are free.

Friday, July 23rd at 5 p.m.- CHOP’s Summer Art Gala Come to see the creativity and artistic endeavors of the Chop’s Teen Club members. Art displayed  from the Side by Side Professional Artist Series. Come enjoy hors d’eouvres by Chop’s Catering Crew and live music by Brody Cumming. Check out the fantastic programs for teens such as Dog Care & Agility, Basic Welding with local welding artist Arn Anderson, Chop’s Jam Band, Barista classes and More!

CHOPs Summer Gala

West End Summer Bocce-  Every Friday at 6 p.m. at DeMeo Park. Join your friends and neighbors at beautiful DeMeo Park. Bring food and drinks to share. This is an all age, dog friendly event. To keep the event enjoyable and comfortable for all- please remember to observe Park rules: No glass, dogs on leashes. The West End Neighborhood Association has procured a Special Alcohol Permit and Lavatory for West End Summer Bocce. Wear layers for chilly nights.

Buttery scones, succulent savories, delicious desserts, with a selection of teas served. This is a set menu; special food requests cannot be accommodated. Call 524-5445 for reservation information.
