SMART Preview ScheduleSMART will provide Preview Rides for the public this month. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis and all trains depart promptly so please arrive at stations early. Please see the special train schedule below for the SMART Preview Ride dates listed above.

 

Shakespeare in the Cannery is one of the most unique experiences Santa Rosa has to offer… and it’s right here in the West End. The venue entrance is located through the parking lot of 6th Street Playhouse, at 52 W. 6th Street. Guests can arrive early and bring their own picnic dinner, or will be able to purchase food from the concession stand. Wine and beer will also be available for purchase. The play is suitable for ages six and older. Ticket prices are $10 – $36 and are available at www.shakespeareinthecannery.com

Starting this Thursday: July 13-27th– Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m.In The Mood For its fourth season, Shakespeare in the Cannery is proud to present  a sparkling musical version of Shakespeare’s beloved comedy, Much Ado About Nothing. While using Shakespeare’s original words and story, they’ve placed the action in 1945 Italy, just as World War ll has ended. The songs and dances of the swing era reflect that heady, celebratory time when all of worn-torn Europe rejoiced at the coming of peace.

August 10th– September 2nd Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. FairyWorlds! 6th Street Playhouse presents a brand new adaptation of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream

 

July 18th, Tuesday- 6 p.m.- Storm Center Filmed in Santa Rosa(1956) Storm Center is an American drama film directed by Daniel Taradash. The screenplay by Taradash and Elick Moll focuses on what were at the time two very controversial subjects, Communism and book banning, and took a strong stance against censorship. The film stars Bette Davis and was the first overtly anti-McCarthyism film to be produced in Hollywood. $5 Location: Roxy Stadium 14 85 Santa Rosa Ave.

July 21stWest End Summer Movie Nights– Friday nights at the DeTurk Round Barn. All movies start at dark (15 minutes after sunset). Bring a blanket, warm clothes and friends. Free popcorn. Last movie is on  August 11th Return of the Jedi  Location: DeTurk Round Barn 819 Donahue Street

July 27th, Thursday 5-7 p.m.- 8th Annual Chop’s Teen Club Art Gala An evening featuring teen art created during Chop’s Summer Side By Side Artist Series.
