Parking Survey, Garden Tour Success

May 11, 2016 in Entertainment, Events, Gardens & plants, Neighbor News

Eco-Friendly Garden Tour was an outstanding success. Our own West End gardeners- Terry Allan, Justin and Eryn Whitaker and Deborah Crippen had their garden gates wide open for a great showing of visitors. Eco-Friendly Garden Tours reported that this year there was an overwhelming amount of interest with some gardens receiving more than 200 people. Thanks to Terry, Justin & Eryn and Deb for showing off our wonderful neighborhood!

West End Parking Survey Continues- We’ve had over 100 responses. The SMART service launch is just a few months away. Now is the time to determine if there is interest in creating residential parking district(s) within the West End. Many of us rely on street parking or are impacted by streets over-crowded with parked cars. To create a residential parking district a super-majority of residents must be in support of the program on a street by street basis. Cost to residents is $20 per vehicle (limit 3 for house and 1 per unit for apartments). Guest passes are available for residents to purchase as well. This survey will gauge general interest and provide guidance on which streets should be targeted for inclusion in an eventual district. Specifics on the City’s Parking District program may be found at http://ci.santa-rosa.ca.us/departments/Parking/Pages/ResidentialParking.aspx     TAKE SURVEY
