8th St- W Steele Ln- San Miguel Rd SMART Railroad Crossing Sewer and Water Improvements. Estimated Construction Schedule: Slated to begin March, 2015 and is anticipated to be completed May, 2015. Construction Contract Amount: $378,309 Project ID #: 1833 Description: In advance of the upcoming train service and in order to protect the City’s utilities under the tracks, this project will extend the water casings at the railroad crossings located at West Steele Lane and San Miguel Road. The project will also replace the aging sewer and water infrastructure utilizing casings previously installed under the tracks along West 8th Street between Donahue Street and Wilson Street. The roadway will be reconstructed over the new utilities outside of the railroad right of way. April 16th, Thursday at 6 p.m.- Recreation & Parks Volunteer Appreciation Event Recreation and Parks celebrates Community Volunteers. Enjoy refreshments, door prizes and a presentation highlighting the amazing accomplishments of our volunteers over the past year. This year the event is being held at DeTurk Round Barn and it’s during National Volunteer Week to coincide with the nationwide celebration of volunteers in their communities.  I only volunteered once during the past year – can I come? The Arlene Francis Center for Spirit, Art and Politics serves a unique community-building function for diverse citizens throughout Santa Rosa and Sonoma County. They offer an affordable production haven to emerging music, dance and theater groups, local non-profits doing outreach, and cultural-educational events that might not otherwise find a venue. But sometimes, all that goodness will not pay the bills- they have to raise $25,000 to defray the cost of our annual fees from the county, building repairs, and operating expenses.
