April is “Distracted Driving Awareness Month. S. R. P. D. will be joining over 200 other local law enforcement agencies in a month long, statewide “zero tolerance” enforcement campaign to those texting or operating hand-held cell phones while driving. “It’s Not Worth It!” is the theme that emphasizes that potential costs of being distracted- a collision, an injury or a hefty fine. April 5th, Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.- Shakespeare in the Cannery Clean up. This is the first cleanup date for the site- it will involve cleaning the Cannery space on 3rd St. (behind SMART construction site) in preparation for the 6 week engagement of “Romeo & Juliet” in July. April 8th, 15th & 22nd- Low Water Use Landscape Workshop Series- The City of SR will pay you to transform your lawn to a low water-use landscape. Prequalify to receive up to $250 through the City’s Green Exchange program by attending the first 2 of the 3 workshops.
It’s easy to dispose of Bulky Items! Current residential S. R. Garbage service customers get 4 bulky item pick up per calendar year, OR 1 yard bin free per year. (One will exclude the other.)
