Love me Fix me Spay/Neuter Program– the new low-cost, mobile, targeted spay/neuter program arrived in the West End (at Western Farm Center) on January 9th . This amazing program offers low cost surgeries that cost the owners between $15-$30. 240 surgeries will be provided at no cost, based on income. The goal is to spay or neuter 2,400 dogs and cats in 2013. Pass this info on- Let’s stop all unwanted litters. May 12th, Sunday at 10 a.m. West End Small Dog Hour– A slower, downsized environment for the smaller dog to play in. A great time for small dogs to meet with other small dogs to romp without concern. The West End Small Dog Hour is held the second Sunday of every month right before the W. E. Poodle Party. Heavy rain will cancel event. May 18th, Saturday at 9 a.m. Dog Hike at Kunde Winery. SOLD OUT! Fourth-Generation Winegrower Jeff Kunde and his dog Riley cordially invite guests and their furry friends for a hike through the breathtaking Kunde Family Estate vineyards. This moderately strenuous hike will last approximately 4 hours, concluding with a much-deserved wine tasting and wine country lunch. Hike along oak woodlands, native grasslands and chaparral while learning about Kunde Family Estate’s sustainable winegrowing practices from grape to glass. A portion of the fee for the Dog Hike will be donated to Canine Companions and Sonoma County Humane Society. The tour fee is $50/person Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Double Gate Entry at Dog Park– Use the double gated entry at the dog park. It allows you to enter with your dog and (very important) assess the energy at the dog park when other dogs are present. If it looks okay- then you can slip off your dog’s leash and enter. If you don’t feel comfortable- (perhaps there are too many dogs or too much energy)- it is your responsibility as your dog’s guardian to not enter. Take a walk instead…. you can always come back later.
