New W. E. Stop Sign- There is a new stop sign at the corner of 10th and Ripley. At the Fall West End Neighborhood Association Meeting, Rick Moshier (City of S. R. Public Works) discussed cross walks, stop signs and future plans for improvements to our neighborhood. Neighbors were very concerned with the intersection of 10th and Ripley and there are new stop signs on Ripley. The remaining items that we discussed at the meeting were improvements around the DeTurk Round Barn. It is a facility that the City rents out for events. Neighbors felt that there should be crosswalks and stop signs for the safety of anybody who uses the facility. We are grateful for these improvements and we look forward to working with Public Works for the future improvements.
St. Rose Neighborhood – Our closest neighbor has a brand new, revamped website. It has an event calendar, newsletter archive, links to relevant government agencies, other neighborhood/ historic information sites, and photo galleries. The “Around the Neighborhood” photo gallery has photos of every historic structure in the neighborhood and the details such as year built and house style from the city’s historic resource survey.
