West End neighbor membership dues can be paid at any time – but it’s easier to remember if you pay at the beginning of the year. $10 suggested, but any amount appreciated. The Arlene Francis Foundation announces the formation of its new Center for Spirit, Art, and Politics. Situated in Sonoma County’s historic Railroad Square District in Santa Rosa, California the Center will house educational, cultural, ethical & green business activities united by a common purpose—the development of a theory & practice that will foster the creation of a better world, based upon justice, kindness, love, and respect for the earth. February 4th, Friday-  First Friday Night Sky: The SRJC Planetarium will present a view of the sky with emphasis on the stars, constellation, plantes and other interesting facts in or about the sky that night. Although admission for First Friday Night Sky is free, donations to support SRJC’s Planetarium are gratefully appreciated. 7 p.m. & 8:30 p.m. arrive early enough to pick up your parking permit, return to your vehicle for placement, and arrive back in the Planetarium before the show starts. Location: SRJC Planetarium in Lark Hall Time: 7 p.m. & 8:30 p.m. (Not in the West End… but might be interesting!)

February 5th, Saturday-First Saturday Clean Up: Help take care of the restored S. R. Creek flowing through the heart of downtown. The creek provides a home for river otter, kingfishers, egrets and steelhead trout. The Prince Memorial Greenway offers parks, public art and recreation. It’s up to us to take care of this incredible amenity. Ages 5-adult. Lunch afterward. Bring your own utensils. Desserts, fruit and appetizers are always welcome. Location: Meet at Olive Park  Time: 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. First Saturday Clean Up

February 10th, Thursday- Jack & Tony’s 2nd Anniversary Open House. Every one invited. Stop by anytime between 5 p.m.- 10 p.m. for a drink, a bite, complimentary hors d’ oerves and to toast another successful year. Location: Jack & Tony’s 115 Fourth Street Time: 5- 10 p.m.
