May 13th, Thursday 16th Annual Bike to Work Day. Bike to Work Day is the premier bicycling event taking place in all of Northern California- all nine Bay Area counties participate. The event is just one day of many events taking place in May as part of National Bike Month. May 15th Saturday 10am- 116th Annual Luther Burbank Rose Parade: The Parade theme “ROSE PEDALS” ties this annual celebration of community into the weekend activities of the Amgen Tour of California bike race. Entrants have been encouraged to consider using bicycles, tricycles and other self-propelled wheeled objects as part of their entry. Starts at Sonoma Avenue and E Street. May 17, Monday Tour of California Stage Two Finish: For the fifth consecutive year, the Tour of California returns to Santa Rosa. Best Place to Watch: The Stage 2 Finish Line at Third Street and Santa Rosa Avenue in Courthouse Square or Railroad Square will be a perfect vantage point from which to cheer on the cyclists as they make their last push down Wilson Street on the way to the finish line. The riders are expected to enter downtown Santa Rosa around 3 PM on Monday, May 17th. Many activities and a festival is planned.
