Bocce Court clean up this Saturday 11 a.m.

Apr 22, 2010 in Bocce, Entertainment, Gardens & plants

Lots to do this weekend- but don’t forget the West End Bocce Court cleanup!

April 24th, Saturday at 11 a.m.- Bocce Court Clean up at DeMeo Park. A yearly tradition, spruce up the courts for the West End Summer Bocce Season. Bring tools, gloves and don’t forget the sunblock.  Plan to have a snack because the West End Charter School will hold a bake sale at the clean up.

Do you have plant containers to spare? The roses at the DeTurk Park Vintage Rose Garden will be removed and stored early next week. Gina will have lots of rescued plants to give to neighbors soon. She is requesting donations of 1 gallon, a few 5 gallon and she especially would like 2 gallons plant containers. If you have some to spare, drop them off at her house at 114 W. 8th. (It’s a house with a gorgeous garden, of course!)

Dan Wright & Gina prepared the roses for removal today.

Miss Kitty and the Big Dogs– played recently at Cafe Azul. Great musicians playing jump/blues swing. They had them dancing on the sidewalk. West End musician Tim Sarter on bass. Watch them in action- click here!
