Help Bring Groucho home!

We have lost our beloved kitty of 10 years. He went missing 2 days ago. We will be putting up posters but I thought I would also send his picture to you. His name is Groucho. He is black and white medium length hair with a very distinctive black mustache. We live at 132 Lincoln Street. My cell number is 480-0197 and home is 546-6463

Thank you

August 3oth-  Santa Rosa Marathon will start on Sunday morning at Julliard Park and continue down Santa Rosa Creek Greenway Trail. Expect to see lots of activity down by the creek on that day. For more info on the S.R. Marathon

Crime Alert! There have been two disturbing reports.

Yesterday morning a Roseland University Prep (100 Sebastopol Road) student reported being harassed by a man in a tan-ish van on her way to school at around 7:30am. He wanted her to get in the van. She called 911 and a police report was taken.

This morning a different RUP student reported a similar experience with a man in a black Honda- again on the way to school. This second occurrence is also being reported.

Please remind all students to be aware of stranger danger, especially if they walk to/from school.

West End Neighbors,

Carol Haseltine-Ernst of W. 7th Street reports:

Hey,
My sister-in-law’s car was broken into last night and everything was stolen from inside (CDs, clothes, change, etc.). They tore apart the inside and left the rear door open and her lights on. Could you give the neighborhood a heads up? Thanks.

The most important facet of Neighborhood Watch is communication. Thank you, Carol for keeping your West End Neighbors informed.

Be alert of suspicious activity, especially late at night. Call the SRPD emergency 911; nonemergency 528-5222.

Dear West End Neighbors,

A brief update regarding the proposed Medical Marijuana facility on the corner of College & Cleveland. As you know, there was a Neighborhood meeting on August 5th and it was well attended by interested neighbors, property and business owners. The overwhelming sentiment was that the proposed location is not a good fit for this type of facility. At this point, the planner is finishing his report and will send it off to Jeff Kolin, City Manager. It is my understanding that there were a great number of letters received by the planner. I’ve attached his last communication and a copy of the Medical Canabis ordinance.

Thank you West End Neighbors for being so concerned about our wonderful neighborhood!
Hello Concerned Neighbors,
As of right now, I am waiting on one additional piece of information before making my recommendation and referral up to the City Manager for a decision. There is no new information regarding the status of the proposed Medical Cannabis Dispensary at 80 College Avenue.
It is inefficient for me to provide individual updates regarding the status of this project (as there are so many interested parties) so please refrain from inquiring as to the status individually.
When I send it up for a decision, I will send out a notification and when a decision has been made, I will send another notification. Please pass this on to any interested parties who were not included in the mailing list.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Noah

Attention West End Gardeners! We are planning a small West End Garden tour on Saturday, September 19th. We already have 3 gardens scheduled for the tour and are looking for one or two more. If you have a garden that you would like to share on the tour please let us know. It can be an experimental garden, succulent garden, sculpture garden or a “before” garden -as you know, gardeners love it all. Many West End Gardeners have benefited from the wonderful, organic seedlings from “Joan’s West End Garden”, proceeds from this tour will help support this fantastic project. If you would like to share your garden, email Joan at  singfrog@sonic.net
