Congratulations to Melissa and Kelly. They were married today in front of their West End home, surrounded by family and friends. After the ceremony, they delighted the neighborhood by taking their celebration to the streets with a New Orleans type procession. Let’s toast the happy couple! The Annual West End Picnic was a wonderful event. Every one enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs grilled by Guy Dean and Heather Rosales. We also had an ice cream sundae station (under the the command of Sam & Aaron Jacobs) and lots of food contributed by neighbors. The kids enjoyed facepainting, games and a water balloon toss- organized by Robin Stephani and Jacquie Smith. The picnic was accompanied by music supplied by Sher Ennis. The Santa Rosa Fire Department also came for a visit.

A well attended BBQ

A well attended BBQ

So many neighbors contributed to make this event a success. Volunteers helped set up, BBQ, arrange tables, organize children’s activities, prepped the Bocce court ( Thank-you Andrew Zarrillo) and to clean up. We’d like to thank Western Farm for the use of the hay bales, their huge BBQ and mesquite. Franco American also donated their wonderfully fresh hamburger buns. We are also grateful to Rick Derringer, Odyssey Development for donating to help cover the cost of the BBQ.

A Boyce Street Neighbor reports:

Yesterday morning I came out to find my drivers side window completely shattered. Another neighbor, who lives a block down, found her back window shattered as well. We suspect it was bb guns, as the windows were not broken in and nothing was taken. It must have occurred Wednesday (July 8th) late at night.

We’re both filing police reports. Please let people know to be on the look out, we suspect teenagers with bb guns.

Thanks for sharing your updates with neighbors and for filing a report with the SRPD. This way all West End Neighbors can be aware of this problem.
