If you have West End related photographs that you would like to have posted on the website- please contact Lea Barron-Thomas at West End Neighborhood email . We would be especially interested in Historic photographs of the neighborhood or in a portrait of your West End dog.

Last Saturday’s Bocce clean up was a huge success. Several hardworking neighbors spread wood chips and fresh bocce mix to make DeMeo Park ready for this year’s season. Bocce mix and lavatory has been donated by the West End Neighborhood Association. Your dues at work!

The Hennepin Crawler is in the Luther Burbank Parade and needs flowers for decoration. Flowers need to be tough enough to last 15 hours. Red and white colors most preferred. The Krank Boom Clank crew- David Farish, Dan Kirby, Clifford Hill & Skye Barnett  could also use help in decorating. For more info or questions contact:   Krank Boom Clank

Hennepin Crawler ready for decorating

Hennepin Crawler ready for decorating

Hello all peoples of the Bocce Clan,

ROSE PARADE

Us Krank-Boom-Clank doods are decorating our Hennepin Crawler for this weekend’s 115 Annual Luther Burbank Rose Parade! weeeeEEEEeeee!!!

Would y’all mind helping us out this Friday night at DeMeo Park by cutting as many as you’d like to give for us to prettify the ol’ rust bucket of ours?

REPLIES

An early email reply on flower number estimates from obliging folks would help us gauge what’s coming in and manage it better:

_____

DETAILS

Floral Diversity:
The flowers don’t have to be all roses. We’re equal opportunity blossom advocates.

Lasting:
More importantly, flowers need to last the 15 or so hours from being picked to being handled and wired to the Crawler until noon the following day.

Color:
I’m thinking we want to focus on darker red and white flowers only while yellows maybe secondary (and avoid pink, as lovely as they are, I know).

DECORATING HELP

Anyone who would like to help us wire the flowers on are of course welcome.

It shouldn’t take too long with a small group and would be fun! Plus think of the memories for the grand kids!

We’ll probably be doing some decorating on Friday night after bocce and early Sat morning depending on how much gets done. We have to be finished and ready to roll by 8:30am Sat. morning.

Thanks, all!

Many West Enders have historic windows that are lovely to look at- but not always energy efficient as modern windows. One neighbor has found a way to insulate her windows inexpensively, without destroying the windows or the look of her windows. They are Energy Saving Window Inserts that are ultra light, shatterproof and they keep out drafts, dust and noise. The West End Energy-Wise Neighbor group were so impressed when we saw them that we thought that other neighbors would be interested too.

Deborah Crippen is the contact person if you would like to see the inserts or find out how to get them. Email her at    dcrippen@juno.com  or call her at 546 2458 or 696 2734.
